The Heyfield Hall is a friendly, modernised all abilities venue and that has flexability for almost any event, from a wedding to a theatre show. Our rich community history and team of volunteers is what makes this venue the heart of your next awesome function.

The six areas for hire are the Main Hall which can seat 300. Large stage with digital audio/visual/lighting for productions. A feature with the main hall is the acoustic tiles that have been installed for quality sound for events in this area. For the comfort of patrons there is a large heating and cooling system. The Bar area is set off to the side of the main hall for serving of beverages.

The Blue room is used for exercise classes, meetings and when stage productions are on this room is used for costumes changes and makeup application. A large supper room is located off the main hall and kitchen. The supper room is used for serving food at functions and can be used for meetings or small gatherings. The large kitchen is registered as a commercial kitchen with the Wellington Shire and used by commercial cooks weekly. A stock of crockery, cutlery and glass wear to cater for 200 people if stored in the Kitchen. An office area is available on request.

 
 

History

The Heyfield Hll was rebuilt in 1956 on the original site of the Heyfield Mechanics Institute. Being renamed the Heyfield War Memorial Hall with many return service men and women settling in the area as Soldier Settlers with land designated for farming.

The opening was celebrated with a gala ball. Over the decades the building has hosted many and varied events. In the early days Court was held monthly with a magistrate presiding over cases brought before him. Movies were shown and at the back of the hall a crying room was used for small children. Basketball and badminton were popular sport played in the main hall.

A Community Hub

Being the largest space for events service and sporting clubs, schools and the public continually use the hall.

The Library

In the 1970's the Library was built onto the side of the building. Other renovations and updates have taken place over the years all to the benefit of the community who use the venue.
